Dr. Saday Barrett, Psychotherapist/Healthcare Strategist/Consultant/Author

Hello! My name is Dr. Barrett, a Psychotherapist, Board-Certified Counselor and Healthcare Consultant.

I treat adolescents, experiencing anxiety and mood disorders, individuals experiencing anxiety and trauma and couples with relationship and sex related problems.

My therapeutic approach involves a collaborative and integrative process, and I view the patient as an expert in their experiencing of the world.

My integrative approach – Arts, Narrative and Symbolism combined with Humanistic, Multicultural and Person-Centered approaches as well as Behavioral Intervention, Psychodynamic, EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy mixed with holistic interventions.

My professional experience in the psychotherapy and mental health fields includes more than 15 years’ experience working with various populations, in private practices, community counseling, outpatient treatment centers, foster and adoptive care agencies, with veterans and at residential treatment centers.

My experience as a multicultural practitioner-of-color integrating Caribbean, North American and holistic practices as well as community counseling; my experience working with a variety of diagnoses, to include anxiety and mood disorders and gender dysphoria augurs well for my patients’ well-being.

I have a specialization in crisis and trauma, couples counseling, multicultural counseling as well as serving individuals from the LGBTQ+ community and use principles of neurodiversity (the idea that there are natural divergences in the brain) to help me to understand and serve all my patients.

I use my more than 15 years' experience in the psychotherapy and mental health industry, and the knowledge I have gained working in private practice, outpatient treatment centers, with veterans, in community counseling and residential treatment centers, to treat all my patients.

I earned a bachelor's degree in communications, (B.A Communications Journalism), a master's degree in psychology, (M.A Psychology) a master's degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling (MS, Clinical Mental Health Counseling), and a doctoral degree in Healthcare Administration (DHA, Healthcare Administration,) as well as a MA/MBA in Communications and Business.

A licensed professional counselor, (LPC), in the state of Georgia and nationally certified by the National Board of Counselors (NBCC.)  I am dedicated to mental wellness, and work with my patients with a commitment to achieving life congruence by balancing their past histories, present needs and desires, and future goals.

If there is one thing I have learned, it is that life is a paradox. “In order to heal, you must hurt, in order to love you must break open, and in order to have peace, you must face chaos.”
